Attract Black Phoebes to your yard with live mealworms

These two Black Phoebes show up for a breakfast of mealworms.  Photo by J.J. Meyer
You can attract these little flycatchers to your yard by placing live mealworms in a dish. Wrens and Bluebirds love them too!

  2. Thanks for your interest! You can find live mealworms at many large pet shops and nature stores such as Wild Birds Unlimited, which has more than 200 stores across the country. You can buy special feeders for the worms, or just serve them up in on an old plate. I put mine in the grass near the patio so that I can get good photos.
    Happy Birding!
