The Great Backyard Bird Count Starts Today

The White-crowned Sparrow spends winter in Orange County. Photo by J.J. Meyer

You don't have to be an expert birder, wear a goofy hat or even own a birding vest to count birds this weekend for The Great Backyard Bird Count, sponsored by Audubon, the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and Bird Studies Canada.
Anyone can participate in the weekend event, and no registration is required.  Just count birds in your back yard or at a local park for at least 15 minutes. Then go online at birdcount.org to report your findings.  Read more about it in the The Orange County Register.
     Tweet this to your friends!
     Happy Birding!
