The Big Year is No Big Deal for Birders

The movie "The Big Year" opens this Friday starring Jack Black, Steve Martin, and Owen Wilson play three friends who enter into a year-long contest called the Big Year, in which participants attempt to spot the greatest number of birds in North America. But all the trailer shows is three pathetic men with various male crises who decide to have “big years” of their own traveling for a vague contest that involves cameras and binoculars.  According to Entertainment Weekly, the words “bird watching competition” are never actually uttered. Too bad, I was hoping there might be some actual information about birds weaved into the comedy.
I hope you birders will post your opinions of the movie here.
Thanks.
Happy Birding!
JJ
